Stonewater Zendo
In October 2005, David Scott and a small group of students from the Liverpool sangha inaugurated a new zendo at David's Lake District house south of Penrith. Stonewater Zendo overlooks the River Lowther and across at Knipe Moor, in the hamlet of Butterwick, near the village of Bampton Grange.

The Zendo is small, and sits about ten people comfortably, which is about as many people as can be accommodated in the Zendo and house, and is used mainly for weekend sesshin from Friday evening to Sunday lunchtime, which are advertised in the 'Events' section. The retreats are held in silence and vegetarian meals are provided. The daily schedule includes several meditation periods, samu, dharma talks and interviews with David, informal meals, and usually a chance to go out for walks in the countryside on Saturday afternoons.

It may be possible to rent out Stonewater Zendo for smaller groups - the zendo has a small kitchenette and bathroom, and can sleep four without the use of the main house (tents can also be pitched on the lawn). If you would like to inquire about this, please contact Dave Scott directly by email at dl.scott@virgin.net.
