Upcoming events

For details of our regular meditation schedule, see the "meditation times" section and for details of monthly zen practice days, see the Zazenkai page. Note that regular meditation sessions may be suspended when the LZG is hosting a sesshin, as we usually take all our mats and cushions to the event!

For other events hosted by groups in the White Plum Sanhga, see the WPS UK website. For other Buddhist events in Merseyside, consult the MerseyBuddhists website.

Events are usually announced by email before they are posted on this site. If you would like to be added to the White Plum Sangha UK mailing list, please subscribe here (link fixed!).

Crosby Hall Sesshin with Tenshin Fletcher Roshi and David Scott Hoshi

Tenshin Fletcher Roshi

Sunday 24 to Saturday 30 August 2008, Crosby Hall

Who needs the confirmation of somebody on the outside? You don’t! See into this vast empty life. It’s not about being concerned about a reward or appearing in a certain way or having your life be a nice little life. It’s about seeing the tremendous depth of one’s own existence.

The schedule will be one of traditional Zen training with sitting and walking meditation, private interviews and dharma talks. Crosby Hall Educational Trust is a purpose built centre in the grounds of a stately home in the countryside near Liverpool. The owner has kindly given permission to walk in the grounds. Meals will be vegetarian. Places are limited.

This fifteenth annual UK retreat will be suitable for beginners and experienced practitioners alike. It is a great opportunity to begin or renew training with a Zen master from a genuine and traditional lineage.

Cost: All inclusive for the full 6 days £230 (Unwaged £180, limited places; Private pension £200). Daily rate: £40 (Unwaged £30). Preference will be given to those booking the full retreat.

To book: 50% non-refundable deposit in advance by cheque to "Dr D L Scott" in an envelope marked "road" or "rail" depending on how you plan travel to:
